I’m not sure how to do this post. I’ve joined Tuesdays with Dorie and today is the day we post our first recipe from Baking with Julia. Our first recipe is the White Loaves. I am so thankful that we started out nice and easy.
And these really were quite easy. I like to make bread, but it’s been a while since I made white bread for the family. Now, I remember why. This was such a yummy bread, especially with butter. Um, lots of butter. And it makes the best grilled cheese!
Mine are not the prettiest of loaves. I did not do a great job of shaping them. But the dough was easy to work with. (I was just a tad bit lazy.) The finished loaves sliced wonderfully. I would definitely make this recipe again. In fact, I think this recipe will replace my current white bread recipe.
I must confess that I did these without Esi. I wanted to get through the first recipe, pics and blog write-up on my own. However, I know that she is capable of doing this recipe, so I’m going to have her make it for the family this week. I’ll post her efforts with some pics of Esi in action soon.
