Tuesdays with Dorie…(No) Pecan Sticky Buns

Yep, No Pecans.  I’m just not a nut-in-my-sweets kinda gal.

But, oh my goodness, talk about butter!  I only made a half batch and I was astounded at how much butter went into my eight sticky buns.IMG_0842

This was a much more involved recipe than the last one.  I spread it out over two days, making the brioche dough on Sunday and then the Sticky Bun part on Monday.  It required a lot of steps, but really wasn’t that difficult.  This makes me think that I might actually be able to make croissants someday.

I am in the process of packing up our house for a move and only had my silicone pans left in the cupboard.  It made the turning out process a little messy, hence the wonky rolls in the pic.

Esi and I agreed that this was the best recipe we have made so far.  The brioche was wonderful.  I don’t like overly sweet things, but I definitely would like to make the brioche part of this recipe again.

  1. Brioche is definitely one of my favorites… time-consuming, but so worth it in the end! :)

We went nut free as well – I don’t think any thing was really lacking with out them.
Your rolls look like they came out beautifully
